5/ The Most Romantic Language In The World Some people say French is the most romantic language in the world. Although it's nice, I disagree. To me, Spanish is the most romantic. Yeah, yeah, I know I'm a tad biased, but believe me, once you really start to get into the language you'll see how beautiful and expressive it is. The capacity for love, romance, sweetness, softness, as well as power, passion and pride are there for all to see. The way the Spanish speak to their children, in those caring dulcet tones, and with their endless imagination in the use of diminutives (e.g. un abracito = a small hug; un besio = a small kiss), shows a language that comes from the heart. It's no coincidence then that Charles V, the 16th century Holy Roman Emperor, who spoke no less than five languages, stated that he 'Spoke Spanish to God'. 6/ Impress Your Friends Or That Dark Stranger You've Had Your Eye On! OK, I know I promised five reasons why you should learn Spanish, but I felt this one was too important to pass up. Do you keep making eye contact with that beautiful, dark stranger on your way to work in the morning? Not sure, how on earth you're ever going to approach them, let alone ask them out? Well, with a little bit of Spanish under your belt, you may just be able to spark off a conversation that lights the flames of passion and starts a whirlwind romance. And if not, you'll be able to impress your friends by ordering the best tapas on the menu with a nice cold glass of San Miguel! Que aproveche!
